Ghafari developed a master plan of the UIC-Halsted Blue Line train stop for the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP). This study includes designs for three scenarios in the year 2040: Preserve, Reinvest, and Innovate. “Preserve”  focuses on small-scale improvements, rather than dynamic changes; "Reinvest" focuses on improving the existing infrastructure, creating a more efficient system of land use; and "Innovate" envisions a future in which the region addresses its contribution to climate change by reducing energy use.
